Description
When most people think about supercar-producing countries, Italy and Germany come to mind, as do numerous others, but the Netherlands is not typically first on that list. Spyker bucked that trend, reviving the name of a long-dormant vehicle and airplane manufacturer in 1999 to build one of the most unique sports cars of the 2000s. The C8 was the company’s first production model. It was built between 2000 and 2012, and offered in open-top “Spyder” or fixed-roof “Laviolette” variants.
This 2008 Spyker C8 Spyder is one of just 121 built and one of four finished in Metallic Yellow with a quilted Black leather interior. With just 815 miles shown at the time of cataloguing, this C8 is in exceptional condition and is fitted with several desirable features. One of the most well-known elements of the C8 was its four-spoke “propeller” steering wheel, which was never available in US-market cars. An original propeller wheel was sourced and fitted to this car, while the factory steering wheel is also included in the sale. Additionally, this is believed to be one of 15 cars with a “periscope” mirror, which allows the driver to turn a knob to better see over the convertible top in the down position. Offered in essentially showroom condition, this Spyker C8 Spyder is a joy to drive and a conversation starter everywhere you go, making it a wonderful addition to any collection.
