Description
This gorgeous saloon started its life as a Bentley S2 with a V8 engine, left hand drive and exceedingly rare steel sliding roof. Delivered without airconditioning the car was probably sold to the European continent. At one stage the Bentley was converted with considerable effort and using original parts into a Rolls-Royce. Since the Silver Cloud is identical with very few exceptions this was achieved without major problems. The conversion went as far as replacing the valve covers with Rolls-Royce items as well. Around 1994 the car was imported into Switzerland and restored about two years later. At the end of 2012 the Silver Cloud was taken over by the vendor. In 2013/2014 he had the car technically gone over extensively by a well-known specialist. At the same time the headlining and the carpeting in the boot were replaced. In 2019, around 1’000 kilometres ago, the automatic gearbox was overhauled and a service was completed. Now the Rolls Royce is very good overall condition, with the interior presenting itself beautifully and the coachwork showing some minor defects. The last Veteran MOT was completed in September 2019.
