Description

In March 1982, at the Geneva salon, Porsche presented the first series-built cabriolet based on the 911, the 911 SC 3.0 cabriolet. Only 2’345 examples with the well-proven three litre boxer delivering 204 horsepower were built before being replaced by the so-called RdW variant of the 1984 model year designated Carrera 3.2. Our example with leather seats, air conditioning and 16-inch Fuchs rims was delivered by H. Starke & Sohn in Osnabrück on the 16th of March 1983 and first registered to a new owner in Oldenburg on the 1st April of the same year. In September 1990 with then 67’000 kilometres driven, the cabriolet was imported into Switzerland. After probably 2 further owners in the eastern part of Switzerland the car was taken over by an enthusiast in the Freiburg Canton in 2004 who, at 155’000 kilometres, had the engine overhauled. At around 165’000 kilometres a new gearbox was installed and the coachwork was partially restored a number of years ago. Unfortunately, the receipts for all this work have been lost. In 2016 the pretty 911 was taken over by a lady who in turn sold it to the vendor in April 2018. He parked the rare cabriolet in his garage without ever registering it. With now roughly 185’000 kilometres driven and a nearly complete service booklet the Porsche is in good and well-maintained condition and will be sold with the most recent Veteran MOT from June 2016. A new owner should certainly perform an oil change as well as a general check-over in order to enjoy his cabriolet in the coming summer months.
