"In 1962, a quite revolutionary new saloon was launched by BMC. With the codename ADO16 this new car was hot from the drawing boards of Alec Issigonis, who set out to design a larger and more sophisticated car which incorporated more advanced features and innovations, and the world-famous Italian design house Pininfarina. Offered in many guises by Innocenti, Morris, Riley, Wolseley, Vanden Plas and Austin, the ADO16 was truly universal in its appeal. In line with BMC's policy at the time, Austin badged versions of the ADO16 were built at Longbridge, whilst Morris and MG versions were assembled at Cowley.
Originally registered on 13th June 1963, this lovely Morris 1100 presents in time warp condition and boasts just one former keeper, that first keeper until 2019. The Fiesta Yellow coachwork is in incredible order given its 60 years and the interior has a delightful patina which is certainly commensurate with such a low owner example, but for some tears in the driver seat which could be repaired it is in remarkable order. The chromework is very good and we are informed there has been no welding to the body presumably as the Morris 110 club member cherished this example. Supplied with a V5C registration document, we are informed the car was laid up between 2015 and 2019 prior to our vendor purchasing and recommissioning 823 FXM. The car is accompanied by a current MoT test certificate which is valid until 29th March 2024 with no advisories, even though the car is MoT exempt. The history file includes the vehicle and workshop manuals. This is a fabulous opportunity to purchase an iconic piece of British motoring history.
