The 1959 MGA Twin-Cam Roadster represents a pinnacle in MG's automotive legacy, highly regarded by collectors and enthusiasts alike. Specifically crafted for the North American market, this left-hand-drive example, chassis number YD3/1785, has been subsequently upgraded under previous ownership to its current configuration, with custom bodywork that features the hallmarks of classic 1960s sports car styling is reminiscent of the AC Ace. Adding to the clean appearance of this example, the car features welded body construction for a smooth, one-piece look.

In terms of performance, this MGA Twin-Cam was powered by a 1,600 cc inline-four engine, featuring a specialized light-alloy crossflow cylinder head with twin overhead camshafts. The cylinder head's hemispherical combustion chambers and Coventry Climax-style inverted bucket tappets were key to increasing the engine's output from the standard 60 horsepower to an impressive 108 at 6,700 rpm, with peak torque of 104 lb-ft at 4,500 rpm. Today, the car benefits from the addition of a Sierra T9 five-speed manual transmission for improved high-speed touring capabilities.

With only 2,111 units produced between early 1958 and early 1960, with just 1,801 of those being original roadsters, this MGA Twin-Cam remains even more exclusive with its custom body work.
