Description
MATRA-SIMCA BAGHEERA S of 1977.
NATIONAL VEHICLE (SPAIN), it was used in Spain, so there is NO OXIDATION/RUST (in Spain we have a very favorable climate to avoid the corosion of the vehicles).
IT IS THE BAGHEERA S MKII, WITH A MORE POWERFUL ENGINE OF 1.500 CC AND DOUBLE CARBURETTOR. IT IS PAINTED IN THE BEAUTIFUL ABETONE GREEN IN WHICH A SINGLE FERRARI F40 WAS PAINTED, THE INTERIOR COMBINES BROWN LEATHER WITH A BEAUTIFUL MATCHING TWEED, IT HAS A SLIDING ROOF, OPTIONAL IN THE S AND SOME BEAUTIFUL ALUMINIUM WHEELS. IT IS A NEWLY RESTORED UNIT AND IS WAITING FOR ITS NEW OWNER TO ENJOY ITS NEW OWNER AT THE CONTROLS.
The Matra-Simca Bagheera is a three-seater sports coupe built by the French car manufacturer Matra. It was developed jointly with Simca as the successor to the Matra 530, and would therefore be marketed as Matra-Simca. It was presented to the public on 9 June 1973 during the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The model had three main features: it was a sports coupé with three seats in a row, had retractable headlamps and was designed to accommodate a mid-engine. It was equipped with the Poissy engine and the front axle of the Simca 1100 TI, and the car's supporting structure consisted of a chassis on which a body made of plastic panels was mounted. The model was named after the panther Bagheera, a character from Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book.
The S featured tweed fabric trim, tinted windows, aluminium wheels, clock, electric windows, reading lamp, optional folding roof, and a larger displacement and more powerful engine.
An authentic mid-engine sports car that will make its driver enjoy and dream, with sharp lines typical of the ‘70’s very fashionable today, a cool car that does nothing but revalue.
