Model history
Powered by a V6 2790 cc petrol engine boosted by two turbocharchers, developing 284 BHP. Power was sent to the back wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic. Quattroporte was manufactured from 1994 till 2001. Its characteristic, wedge-shaped body with a pronounced rear fender instantly reminds us of the early 80’s. Body was designed by Marcello Gandini, who famously also drew the lines of Lamborghini Miura and Countach. In 1995, Quattroporte’s engine line-up was joined by a 3,2-litre engine borrowed from its sibling Shamal. New engine developed 326 BHP. Three years later the last iteration of the Quattroporte was introduced, dubbed the Evoluzione. It was available with 2,8- and 3,2-litre engines. Quattroporte went out of production in 2001. Overall, 2800 examples were made.
Vehicle history
Maserati Quattroporte offered by the vintage and classic car auction company Ardor Auctions is the 568th car to have left the factory. It was originally exported to Japan in 1996. Since then it has done 70 000 kilometres, which is a lot for a car of this type. Despite that, its interior is still impeccable. Body does have a few minor scratches, but its plum-coloured paint still looks very attractive. The car comes with all the necessary Japanese documents together with translations.
