In the series of female names beginning with F, used by Lancia to distinguish the models of that period, after Flaminia and Flavia, the Fulvia appeared, in various versions to replace the outdated Appia. From the saloon, a coupé model was derived in 1965, and in the same year Lancia commissioned the Zagato coachbuilder to create a sports version of the Fulvia, resulting in the Fulvia Sport Zagato.
Lancia was a great believer in front-wheel drive and decided to use it for this car as well, and to return to the world of competition, where the Turin-based company had always won important awards. Towards the end of the 1960s, the Fulvia reached its peak with the Coupé Rallye HF model: a true 'all forward' with front engine, gearbox and drivetrain that ensured excellent roadholding and handling combined with the power of the 4-cylinder V engine with twin carburettors. The results from the racing world were not long in coming and the car proved to be a winner, the fairly low purchase price and the few adjustments needed to make it competitive launched the Coupé onto the market: enthusiasts and gentlemen drivers could own a winning vehicle. Refined and reliable engineering, a still unique and fascinating line and enviable performance were the perfect recipe for its success.
The Fulvia Coupé Rallye we offer was sold new in Italy with the registration plate VE 199484 and to date, has the registration plate CO 760062. The car has Italian documents and Fia Regularity Passport. The MOT, successfully obtained, is valid and the car is in excellent overall condition, ready to be used in historic races such as the Monte Carlo Rallye in which it participated in 2017 and 2019, having been passed through the hands of the Facetti garage while it was recently checked by one of the top experts of the Lancia brand, the Clerici garage in Villa Guardia.
The Fulvia Coupé is sold with a short gearbox, several sets of tyres fitted on rims for snow, ice and rain, modern sports seats plus a pair of vintage sports seats, OMP roll bars, Brunik system, helmet rack and various racing equipment.
Finished in red paint with a black interior, the bodywork is in excellent condition and appears free of any signs of accidents. The car has recently undergone various mechanical and body work for a total expenditure of over € 30,000. Our 818540-2214, part of an important Lancia collection, is ready to give many more satisfactions to its next owner.
