Description

The Lancia Aurelia, hailed as an engineering masterpiece, has always appealed to discerning motorists thanks to its advanced design, quality construction, and understated good looks. The B20 GT coupe, built from 1951 to 1958, was a favorite among the era’s Grand Prix drivers and maintains a devoted following today.

The Aurelia presented here is one of only 621 examples from the final sixth series and just 860 left-hand-drive B20 GTs ever built. According to correspondence in the file with Archivio Storico Fiat, chassis B20S-1790 was completed in July 1958, finished in gray with matching gray cloth upholstery. Delivered new to the US, it has resided on the West Coast for decades. Restored in the early 2000s by its previous Oregon-based owner, the Lancia is handsomely presented in light gray over red leather. At some point, the original engine was replaced with the current B24 unit, desirably equipped with a Nardi kit featuring twin Weber carburetors on a specially designed intake manifold.

Since 2005, the Lancia has been enjoyed by its California-based caretaker, a collector who has owned many fine sporting cars including Bentleys, Bugattis, and Ferraris. Throughout his ownership, the Aurelia has been driven in local rallies, regularly exercised, and consistently maintained by Dino Motors of San Mateo, California. Offered with service records, Registro Aurelia build records, and a copy of the workshop manual, this is a lovely example of the classic gentleman’s GT and an ideal choice for a multitude of historic motoring events.

*Please note that this vehicle is titled 1959.
