Description
The Jensen Interceptor was a uniquely British, and super-cool take on the typical GT car of the late 1960s.
Clothed in a beautiful Italian body and powered by US V8 muscle, this was a car capable of trading punches with the cream of the supercar crop.
Roll forward 60 years, and the beauty of the Jensen Interceptor has continued to gather admiration and Kudos.
JIA’s passion for the Interceptor has created a modern interpretation of this elegant, purposeful GT.
Stripped on a rotisserie, subtly restyled to look oven more powerful, the JIA Interceptor R is more than a skin deep.
Revised suspension and steering geometry, bespoke independent rear suspension, much needed even with a Limited slip differential, in getting the power through the wheels and onto the black stuff, as the V8 supercharged engine unleashes more than 550 BHP and instant torque from its 6.2 litre supercharged engine.
The six speed electronically controlled automatic gearbox, gives a range of ratios, to compliment the engines broad power range, with a 0-60mph time of under 4 seconds, yet around 25mpg when this GT is driven with a hint of restraint.
Variable traction control is by courtesy of Racelogic, and slowing this fast GT has not been overlooked, with front AP racing calipers, and discs.
Whilst Jeremy Clarkson might know Didley Squat about farming, he knows a great deal about cars. His 4-star rating following his test of the Interceptor R, would be welcomed by any car manufacturer, and so Jensen International Automotive, must have been delighted to receive such positive feedback.
Clarkson loved the power and noise, but went further, complimenting the car for its handling, controllability and of course those die for looks.
“And that’s what the Jensen is like. A masterpiece reworked and updated for the modern age.”
Bridge of Weir leather quilted and in two tone Mocha over cream, matching Wilton carpets, bespoke R dashboard cockpit, with beautifully turned switchgear, just adds to the feeling of quality and styling cues.
This R was completed in 2019, for its 1st owner and having covered just 5500 miles.
Finished in Mercedes Sepang Bronze Metallic, with contrasting light tan vinyl roof, the car is in great condition and is ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian.
