Description
The commercial success of the Jaguar XK coincided with the British brand's dominance in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and gave it enormous respect and credibility as a producer of luxury sports cars.
The development of the model, born in 1949, culminated with the XK 150, launched in 1957. The first production car with Dunlop disc brakes applied to all four wheels, this was, in fact, one of the most modern cars of the time!
The engine is practically the same as the Jaguar E-Type with 3.8 liters and 220 HP. With twincam head and a racing pedigree, it has a useable torque curve that propels it to a top speed of 200 km/h with a captivating soundtrack.
This Drophead Coupe is one of 209 manufactured with an automatic transmission, an expensive and very modern extra for the time, which guaranteed truly smooth and uncomplicated use of this sports car.
Imported from England in 2003, this XK 150 underwent a long and careful restoration, completed in 2019. The engine and gearbox are 'matching numbers', the bodywork was painted British Racing Green, which makes the classic contrast with the interior in leather and carpet in beige. Coming from a private collection, it comes with invoices and inspection sheets and is ready to be enjoyed.
