Description

The XJS was relaunched in its final face-lift form in May 1991 under the Ford Motor Company's new ownership and the car received a new 4. 0-litre version of the AJ6 straight-six engine. In 1992, a convertible with the same engine was added to the range and the V12 engine's capacity was enlarged to 6. 0 litres in May 1992. In addition, the new outboard rear brakes replaced the more complicated inboard brakes of previous models.
With the introduction of the 6. 0-litre V12 Engine, the Automatic Transmission was updated to a GM 4L80E with a fourth-gear overdrive and a 2+2 convertible was also introduced along with a limited edition and customised 'insignia' line.

At the same time, the car received more aerodynamic front and rear bumpers with the main interior change being to the instrument pack where the original distinctive drum type ancillary gauges were replaced by a more conventional style binnacle similar to that found in the XJ40 saloon.

In 1995, the final specification changes were made and the car was referred to as the Celebration model to celebrate the 60th year of Jaguar Cars. Celebration cars feature diamond turned wheels, Jaguar embossed seats and a wooden steering wheel. The XJS was discontinued in 1996, after 21 years in production, superseded by the XK8.

This beautiful LHD Jaguar XJS 6. 0 V12 Convertible was supplied new and first registered to its first owner in Dearborn, Detroit, Michigan on 21st November 1994. It is finished in the very rare and beautiful Topaz Metallic with a full Tan Leather interior piped in coffee, Tan Wilton carpets and over mats, Walnut wooden trim on Dash, Centre Consul and Doors, As New Brown Mohair electric Soft Top, Leather Hood cover, its original Jaguar Stereo Radio Cassette player, Electric & Heated seats, Electric windows and Mirrors, Air Conditioning, Driver & Passenger Air Bags, Power Assisted Steering, Cruise Control, Headlamp Washers, 5993cc V12 Fi Engine, 3 Speed Automatic Transmission with 4th gear Overdrive and its original and refurbished 16" Alloy Wheels.

According to the CARFAX report (see documents) supplied with the car, it has had 4 owners from new excluding the dealer who bought it in 2020 and it has had 17 Services during its life with the last service in July 2020 at 48, 479 miles. It is also clear on all CARFAX registers and the mileage is confirmed as correct. It comes with its original Leather Handbook Wallet, copies of USA Title Certificates and a specification sheet and 3 sets of keys and remotes.

The car was purchased in 2021 from a customer of ours living in America and who spotted the car for sale in a Ford dealership in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. It was imported to the UK in July 2021 and we have now MOT'd and registered the car here in the UK with the number plate M732 YRN.

This car is in impeccable condition throughout and has now only covered a very low and genuine 48, 551 miles from new and it really must be seen and driven to be fully appreciated.
