The Jaguar 420, introduced in 1966, is a luxury saloon that exemplifies the elegance and performance associated with the iconic British car manufacturer. As a successor to the Jaguar 3.8 and the 420G, the 420 was designed to offer both sophistication and power in a more compact and stylish package, compared to its larger siblings. Under the bonnet, the Jaguar 420 was equipped with a 4.2-litre inline-six engine, which was the same engine found in the Jaguar E-Type and the Jaguar XK series. This engine produced around 245 bhp and was paired with either a four-speed manual or a three-speed automatic transmission. With this set-up, the 420 could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 8.4 seconds, which was impressive for its time, offering both refinement and sportiness. The car's design was striking, with the bodywork styled by the renowned Jaguar designer, Sir William Lyons. It shared many design elements with the Jaguar Mark X and the Jaguar S-Type, but its more compact size gave it a sleeker, more agile appearance. Inside, the cabin was a testament to luxury, with leather upholstery, wood veneer trim, and a host of comfort features such as power windows and a fully equipped dashboard. The car featured an independent rear suspension, providing a smooth and comfortable ride, even on rougher roads. Its steering and handling were precise, with a solid feel on the road.

Presented in British Racing Green with a contrasting tan leather interior trim gives this example a classic gentleman's club combination. First registered on 12th January 1968, the previous keeper informed us that in the 90's this car was a regular at car shows and a multi concours winner. Boasting a manual gearbox and the iconic 4.2 litre Jaguar engine, one can well imagine the attraction for the infamous London gangster scene for which the Mk. X and 420 were famed along with many wealthy business owners of the 60's. This car has had performance upgrades for the perfect getaway car including the head polished and larger jets giving it improved performance, our vendor tells us to keep up with modern cars.

This genuine right hand drive Jaguar is UK registered with a V5C registration document present. Offered without reserve, this 420 is expected to find an enthusiastic new owner who will once again enjoy the grace, space, and pace that these Jaguars are so capable of delivering.
