Description
For the 1934 model year, Ford updated their offerings with a more powerful V-8 engine and handsome styling, all at an affordable low price. Multiple body styles were offered, including the Coupe, Roadster, Sedan, and Phaeton. The Standard and Deluxe Phaetons were built in very limited numbers, making them highly sought-after by collectors nearly a century on.
While the early history of this V8 Deluxe Phaeton is not known, this charming convertible joined The William Alley Collection circa 1999. On acquisition, an extensive restoration was undertaken and finished to a high standard, with Mr. Alley overseeing the project. With the help of a longtime friend and local craftsman, the vehicle received new paint in striking Washington Blue, nicely accented by cream-colored wire wheels. At this time, the vehicle was also fitted with a new Haartz cloth soft top, and the interior was re-trimmed in charming brown leather. A beautiful, wood-grain dashboard helped to complete the sophisticated look. This stylish Phaeton is also desirably equipped with various period and safety accessories, including a Ford kilocycle radio, greyhound radiator mascot, and a column-mounted turn signal indicator switch.
Rare when new, this desirable Ford V8 Deluxe Phaeton is sure to grab the attention of any early automotive enthusiast.
