Description
After nearly 20 years of turning everyday SUVs into rally-winning machines and occasions where the average driver felt like a driver with a “nail kit”, in 1985 Ford created what became the its fastest and perhaps the most iconic model of all time: this is the Sierra RS Cosworth.
The low-key Sierra RS Cosworth wasn't just a wild-looking road car, it was a model designed and built to win races. Group A regulations from the 1980s required 5,000 units to be built to homologate a car and allow it to compete, so in the tradition that had been established with the Lotus Cortina and Escorts RS, Ford took its “duckling” ugly” Sierra and gave it an injection of competitive character. Despite the huge rear wing, the most significant part of the Sierra RS was the 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. That's why Cosworth – the engineering company that developed the engine – ended up being part of the car's official name.
The very limited production of this homologation special, in addition to the fact that many units disappeared in the 90s, make this a very rare model. This unit has been fully revised and is in very good condition.
