The Ford Sierra RS Cosworth is a performance-oriented version of the Sierra family car produced by Ford Europe in the mid-1980s. The car was developed by Ford's motorsport division, which aimed to create a high-performance vehicle that could compete in rallies and racing. The Sierra RS Cosworth was equipped with a 2.0 litre turbocharged engine that produced 204bhp and 214 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the fastest cars of its time. The exterior of the Sierra RS Cosworth was designed with aerodynamics in mind, featuring a distinctive front grille, a large 'whaletail' rear spoiler, and wider wheel arches to accommodate its wider track. Inside, the car was fitted with Recaro bucket seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, as well as a range of gauges and dials to monitor the car's performance. The Sierra RS Cosworth proved to be a successful rally car, winning several championships and races throughout the 1980s and 1990's.

This example presents well in Diamond White, the paint has a good shine, with a few age-related marks on edges of panels and so on, commensurate with its 37 years on the road. The car has been tastefully modified, it has been fitted with adjustable GAZ shock absorbers, which will greatly improve the cars handling and the engine has been breathed upon. It appears as though a bulk of the engine work was carried out around 2007, a slightly larger turbo was fitted along with various other items, a dyno print out suggested the power figure being 360bhp at the time. The interior presents in very reasonable condition overall, with the Recaro seats being free of any major wear. The car is missing a radio, our vendor has struggled to source an original item and didn't wish to fit an aftermarket unit, so the next custodian will need to fit a stereo of their choosing. This Cosworth has formed part of our vendors Ford collection, but as is so often the case, space requirements mean a few cars must leave to make way for new arrivals. Interested parties should note, the car was recorded as a Category C insurance loss in 2002, when values were far lower than they are today, the car has covered in excess of 20,000 miles since the accident was recorded. The car is supplied to auction with a V5C registration document, a history file detailing many works over the years and it will be presented for an MoT prior to the sale. Consigned by Fraser Smith.
