Description

Introduced in 1927, the innovative Model A marked a new and exciting chapter for the Ford Motor Company. The new model surpassed its predecessor, the Model T, in every way and was a resounding sales success. In addition to being available in seven body styles and four colors at launch, the Model A’s reliability and ease of operation introduced millions of eager buyers to the freedoms of the open road. Of all the body styles offered, the Station Wagon – or “Woody” – was built in the fewest numbers and the second most expensive in the Ford line, making it a favorite among collectors and enthusiasts.

This Model A Station Wagon presents as a well-kept older restoration with many original features intact. While the early history of the vehicle is not known, a Penn-Ohio Ford Model A Club Senior Award badge fastened to the radiator hints at this Model A’s former glory. Prominently displayed in the Mark Smith collection, this Model A appears to be an ideal candidate for reconditioning before resuming its show or touring duties.

*Please note that this Lot, like all vehicles in this Auction, has been in long-term static storage and may not be currently operational. It will require mechanical attention prior to any road use.
