This 1934 Ford 3-Window Coupe was acquired by Ken Roath in April 2008 as an unmodified car, and over a three-year period it was restored in the style of a period hot rod from the 1950s. This work was carried out by renowned hot rod builder Donnie Raiskup of Fresno, California. Raiskup is also known to have built prolific Ferrari collector John Siroonian’s award-winning hot rods, one of which won the Grand National Roadster Show “AMBR” Award for America’s Most Beautiful Roadster.

The Ardun-headed 284 cid Ford engine powering the coupe was assembled by H&H Flatheads of La Crescenta, California. It is equipped with original Ardun heads marked “Made in England,” which are believed to have been previously installed on an Allard. Other rare equipment includes an original S.Co.T. positive-displacement supercharger, twin Stromberg 97 carburetors, and an original Offenhauser beehive oil filter housing. This configuration produces an impressive 330 hp according to test sheets on file.

This 3-Window Coupe is also equipped with Halibrand “Culver City” magnesium wheels and quick-change rear axle as well as Kinmont aviation disc brakes. Cosmetically, the body has a 2” chop and is equipped with a 1941 Ford dashboard. A tan leather interior handcrafted by Sid Chavers complements the car’s dark brown exterior. Built with period and new old stock components of the highest quality and having never been shown, this Ford offers collectors a plethora of exhibition opportunities.
