Description
- Part of The Black On Black Collection
- One of just 2,280 512 TRs built by Ferrari from 1991 to 1994
- Powered by a 4.9-litre flat-12 engine producing 428 horsepower
- Retains its matching-numbers chassis, engine and gearbox, according to factory data
- Finished in Nero over a Nero leather interior
In 1991, the Testarossa nameplate gave way to the 512 TR. The angular edges of the supercar were softened, while the rear deck was styled in step with the newly launched 348. Beneath the bodywork, a one-piece rear subframe allowed the 4.9-litre flat-12 engine—now uprated to the tune of 428 horsepower—to be mounted lower in the chassis. Weight distribution was improved, while revised suspension geometry contributed to sharper handling.
Chassis 93894 was delivered to its first owner on 20 May 1992, having been supplied in Nero over Nero via Ferrari Central East Europe. In 1997 it was imported to Spain, where it was registered in Tenerife. Then finished in Rosso Corsa, it remained on the island and in the care of the same owner until 2013, at which point it was exported.
The car was bought by Maranello Service SRL in 2014, where it was refinished in its factory Nero over Nero specification. In 2018 the same dealership carried out a near-€9,000 service, which included new brake pads, a replacement clutch, and a new fuel pump. A service stamp in August 2019 notes replacement of the timing belts prior to the Ferrari entering The Black On Black Collection in December 2020.
This attractive Nero over Nero 512 TR, with only 55,954 on its odometer at the time of cataloguing, is accompanied by a fitted luggage set and toolkit.
