The Ferrari 456 is the replacement for the 412. The 2+2 Ferraris played an important role in Maranello's production. In addition to their user-friendliness, they are faithful to the front-mounted V12 engine and have the elegance of discretion. The 456 was previewed in Brussels by Luca di Montzemollo and Sergio Pininfarina, to mark the 40th anniversary of Garage Francorchamps.
Marking a return to the tradition of GT 2+2 cars with front V12 engines, the Ferrari 456 combines the spaciousness of a saloon car, synonymous with bourgeois comfort, with exceptional performance.
This M version, which stands for ‘Modificata’, brought real improvements to the original 456 and undeniable gains in reliability. Today, it is the most sought-after version, particularly with the 6-speed manual gearbox.
Our example was delivered on 24 January 2000 by the Tamsen Ferrari dealership to a certain Thomas Reinhard. A regular commuter between Germany and England, he ordered his car with a mileage counter, integrated Nokia telephone, electric seats and manual gearbox.
Configured in Grigio Titanio, with black leather, it was imported into France in 2003 by the Charles Pozzi dealership. They sold it to a company with a power warranty. It was subsequently serviced by specialist RS Garage. In 2005, the mileage counter was replaced by its equivalent in kilometres. The mileage was translated into kilometres (CF logbook). In 2007, the clutch was replaced and the car clocked up 41,784 km.
In 2015, the car was acquired by its current owner. The car has now clocked up 77,000 km. The car is regularly serviced thereafter. Among the major operations will be an overhaul of the gearbox in 2021 by specialist Gt Classic and replacement of the timing belts in the same year.
Our road test confirmed the health of the V12. The famous gearbox greatly enhances the driving experience.
A collector's item whose value is rising, the 456 is the last Ferrari V12 equipped with the famous mechanical gearbox still available. So don't miss out on this great opportunity.
