Originally conceived in 2005, the GT3 category grew to become one of the most popular in circuit racing history, with over 20 manufacturers building cars for the class in the first decade of competition.

While contemporary GT3 cars continue to be raced around the world, period GT3 racing is growing in popularity on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean at a rapid rate, with the introduction of series like GT3 Legends, the Masters GT Trophy, and in HSR events including Sebring 12 Hour, Daytona 24 Hour and Classic Petit Le Mans.

RACING HISTORY

The BMW Z4 GT3 was introduced by the German car giant in 2010, and in its debut season claimed victory in the Dubai 24 Hour event, immediately setting out the car’s stall in the highly-competitive GT3 environment.

Chassis 1016 was built in 2011 and campaigned by renowned BMW privateer outfit Schubert Motorsport in 2011 and 2012 in VLN Races, including the prestigious Nurburgring 24 Hour.

The car was then sold to DB Motorsport to compete in the GT Masters series, before changing hands again to be run by Team DKR in the Blancpain GT Series.

Run by Jordan Racing Team in the UK, the car was used in the GT3 Legends Test day at Silverstone in 2024.

VEHICLE INFORMATION

Chassis 1016 is undoubtedly one of the best BMW Z4 GT3s available today and is truly ready-to-race.

Built in 2011, the car has subsequently had the rear wing, engine electronics and flywheel upgraded to 2013 / 2014 specification.

In very good mechanical condition, including 8000km of running time left on the engine before recommended service, the car has undergone the full scrutiny specified by GT3 regulations. That process includes crack testing of items including wishbones, hubs, uprights, steering arms, diff cradle, front and rear subframes, steering column and wheels.

Since being run at the official GT3 Legends Test day at Silverstone in 2024, the car has been fitted with a new Premier Fuel Systems fuel tank, new seat and harnesses, meaning the car could participate in an event immediately.
