BMW returned to the use of smooth six cylinder power for its top of the range models in 1968 with the launch of its 2500 and 2800 saloons. Also offered was the elegant 2800 CS coupé which shared its running gear with the saloon, but featured the much admired slim pillar coupé styling. The introduction of the three litre engine in 1971 brought with it many improvements. The overhead cam six cylinder engine delivered 180bhp, with strong torque throughout the rev range, which meant the car was as quick at covering real road miles as its acceleration figures on paper led you to believe.
Finished in light metallic blue with a dark blue velour interior this particular 1975 example is described as being in excellent condition throughout. Believed to have been delivered new to Germany, it remained there until it was imported to the UK in 1997. The car is supplied with a UK V5 document, nine old MoT certificates and
