Wonderful BMW 2002 Turbo from 1974, purchased by us in the summer of 2021 from a well-known Swiss collector who had kept the car among his jewels since 1995.

Registered in Italy, the car was the subject of a conservative restoration of the bodywork that was already in excellent condition (stunning paint and total absence of rust) and of a full reconditioning of the mechanics.

Although it did not need it, the engine (matching numbers) has been checked for all tolerances: the cylinder head gasket and valve guides have been replaced; the Kugelfischer injection pump overhauled; the turbo overhauled; the four injectors replaced; the entire braking system overhauled with the reconditioning of the power brake and front calipers and with the replacement of the rear cylinders, brake shoes, brake pads and all the pipes - both rigid and rubber; the gearbox fully overhauled (four gears as per the original); the shock absorbers replaced; the exhaust system (original and unobtainable) fully replaced; the fuel pump replaced;
belts and liquids replaced; the fuel tank pickled.

In short, each part has been either reconditioned or replaced with original BMW parts, and all reconditioned parts have been subject to galvanic electroplating.

The tyres are also new and the rims (BMW original of the time) have been restored.

The interior is original and in splendid condition; all the gaskets including those of the glass and the sunroof are new.

The car features a sliding sunroof, a very rare option for a 2002 Turbo.
