**Adrenaline in a Tux – 2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage**
Alongside the DB9, the V8 Vantage is the successor to the six-cylinder DB7 - the model that saved Aston Martin in the 1990s. However, it is a smaller model that is priced only slightly above a Maserati or Porsche. The sales launch in 2005 proved a great success: the V8 Vantage became the brand’s best-selling model.
The V8 Vantage is a modern classic: it has a long bonnet, a streamlined roof and an abrupt tail - just like the classic sports cars of the early 1960s. Nevertheless, it looks muscular, not delicate. This modern classic style has influenced fashionable design since the 1990s, most notably in the luxury car industry, says design professor Paolo Tumminelli. This was accompanied by rediscovery of front engine-designed supercars - a concept that had been long considered outdated. In the sedan segment, Pininfarina’s hand added a classic sportiness to the 2003 Maserati Quattroporte: Aston Martin makes “the best” modern classics of all the car manufacturers.
Until 2016, Aston Martin produced an unknown number of V8 Vantage models. All of these cars boast an output of 380 hp. Based on Jaguar architecture, the engines were re-engineered at Aston Martin’s facility in Cologne. The aluminium body is a unadulterated two-seater, sporty, with an interior design featuring less wood but plenty of metal and leather.
Our auction example is a vehicle with delivery within Switzerland, a very nice combination that has been well maintained. The ideal entry into the youngtimer scene. Approx. 25,000 cars have been delivered worldwide since 2005, however it remains a real rarity on the road.

Er wird jedoch als kleineres Modell am Markt platziert, da er kaum teurer als ein Maserati oder Porsche ist. Der V8 Vantage ist ein New Classic: Er hat eine lange Haube, ein fliessendes Dach und ein kurzes Heck – ganz wie die klassischen Sportwagen der frühen 1960er-Jahre. Dennoch wirkt er muskulös, nicht zierlich. Dieser New Classic-Stil prägt ab den 1990er-Jahren das Design der Mode, vor allem aber der feinsten Automobile, stellt Design-Professsor Paolo Tumminelli fest. Damit einher gehe die Wiederentdeckung der Frontmotorkonstruktion bei Supersportwagen – ein Konzept, das lange als überholt galt. Im Limousinen-Segment verleiht Pininfarina dem Maserati Quattroporte von 2003 eine klassische Sportlichkeit. Doch Aston Martin mache unter allen Autoherstellern "das Beste" aus dem New Classic-Stil.
Wie viele Aston Martin V8 Vantage bis 2016 entstehen, ist nicht bekannt. Dafür aber seine Leistung von 380 PS. Der Motor stammt von Jaguar, wird aber bei Aston Martin in Köln tiefgreifend überarbeitet. Die Aluminiumkarosserie ist ein reiner Zweisitzer, sportlich eben, ohne viel Holzoberflächen im Inneren, dafür mit viel Metall und Leder.
Bei unserem Auktionsexemplar handelt es sich im ein Fahrzeug mit CH Auslieferung, sehr schöne Kombination wie auch servicegepflegt. Der ideale Einstieg in die Szene der Youngclassic. Seit 2005 wurden weltweit ca. 25'000 Autos ausgeliefert, auf der Strasse bleibt er jedoch eine wahre Rarität.
