Aston Martin and Italian Design House, Zagato, had and continue to enjoy an immensely creative partnership, crafting limited edition Aston Martins that have become renowned as some of the most beautiful cars ever made. The DB7 Zagato.variant benefitted from the many modifications made over the standard DB7. Improved power train, brakes, exhaust system, a stiffened chassis and a revised V12 engine tweaked to deliver 435 bhp greatly improved driving dynamics and performance. The elegant Italian styling of the DB7 Zagato features the distinct large grille, the signature Zagato 'double-bubble' roof and a completely unique rear end that had single round tail-lights and a drop-down boot lid. Zagato styled 5-spoke alloy wheels and a unique Aniline leather interior completed the striking looks of this very special car. DB7 Zagato used a 435bhp version of the DB7 GT V12 engine coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission.Testament to the close partnership between Aston Martin and Zagato, each DB7 Zagato chassis was manufactured in England before being shipped to Italy where Zagato fitted the wonderful body panels. Thereafter each newly formed Aston Martin was re-patriated to England for trim and final finish. It is striking that although the automotive world by and large long moved on from this style of coach-built motor car, Aston Martin and Zagato remained faithfully to a time-honoured production technique.
