With the CSX 4000 series, Shelby American inc. issued a continuation of the legendary Cobra. Around 650 of those fantastic roadsters left the works in Las Vegas. This stunning example, chassis CSX4264, is equipped with a correct 427 cubic inch side-oiler V8 with aluminium heads, a 4-barrel carburettor and 420 hp. The chromed side exhaust system makes sure, the world knows what’s coming! The Cobra had two American owners until, in October 2009, it was imported into Switzerland. After some time, the proud owner noticed that the engine was not running properly and, in May 2011, a partial revision of the seven litre V8 engine was performed, whereby the main bearings, conrod bearings and camshaft bearings were replaced and the cylinder heads overhauled. At the end of 2015, the cult roadster was taken over by the vendor and added to his collection. In March 2016 he had the interior refreshed. Over the following years the 427 was driven sparingly and only used for occasional summer outings. Currently the Cobra is in very good overall condition and will be sold to a new enthusiast with the most recent MOT from September 2021.
