Description

This is a beautiful example of one of the rare Clubman Norton Internationals. The Clubman Inter was built to special order and differ from the standard roadgoing International in having a larger, bolt through petrol tank, lightweight cylinder and cylinder head in aluminium, cambox in magnesium, front brake plate with air scoop, lighter and narrower mudguards front and back and provision for rev counter.

This example has matching numbers and comes with a letter from the Science Museum dating it to the 15th of May 1950.

The Clubman International received a very faithful restoration in the 1970s, with some invoices still with the bike. Original paint still in place on the frame.
The condition of the Norton is very good, with a light patina to the paint. Only on close inspection do you sense that it has been restored, all details, all nuts and bolts are the original items.

In 2024 the Norton had the magneto and dynamo refurbished and it is now a first kick starter. At the same time, a Velocette automatic ball valve was fitted to stop wet sumping. It is out of sight and work wonders.

The Norton comes with a UK V5 and import duty plus fees payed on entry to the EU.
