This retro homage to Longines’ first dive watch gives us the vintage feels

A luxury watchmaker diving back into its back catalogue to produce a vintage reissue – it’s hardly shocking news. In fact, it seems like almost every brand is capitalising on the retro craze that’s swept the watch world. With that in mind, say hello to the new Longines Heritage Skin Diver…

Military vibes

The new Longines Heritage Skin Diver is a tasteful modern interpretation of the Nautilus, the brand’s very first dive watch that was introduced in 1959. Naturally, it’s a little bigger (42mm) and features a modern self-winding movement, but the elegant design is virtually identical to the original. The bezel coated entirely in PVD lends the piece a rugged, almost military feel, while the aged Arabic numerals and spear hands, unguarded crown, and engraved caseback will be music to the ears of vintage watch buffs. The best thing about this piece? The price – it will retail for just 2,480 euros (excl. VAT) when it goes on sale next year, making it one of the more affordable retro Swiss watches on the market. Tempted? We certainly are!
