Are you ready to see iconic Group C racers reach top speed once again?

After a short break, the Peter Auto calendar ramps up once more for the second half of the year, which sees thousands of spectators and competitors head to the Circuit Paul Ricard for the Dix Mille Tours du Castellet.

300 km/h in just about any car would feel blisteringly fast, but travelling at that speed in a period-raced piece of motorsport history is left only for the bravest, and those few head to events like the Dix Mille Tours du Castellet. Founded by Peter Auto back in 2010, the event caters to a huge variety of racers and their machines, from the legend of the 1950s, to the always-enjoyable Porsche 911 2.0-Litre cup, right through to some Group C icons.

The French circuit was dedicated to private testing for a number of years, but is now enjoying a resurgence in popularity thanks to events such as this one. Circuit Paul Ricard is one of the more forgiving tracks on the busy schedule, with large tarmac run-off areas, ensuring a slight over-correction shouldn’t leave you without a car for the weekend.

This event has another ace up its sleeve, too, as it is the only one in the season to use two different layouts, depending on the series. The layouts include the tight chicanes for some disciplines, but the removal of the chicanes for classes such as the Group C Legends allows them to really push it to the limit, achieving over 300 km/h along the 1,800 metre-long Mistral Straight.

Elsewhere in the busy event, expect to have plenty to see and do while you visit. Peter Auto pride themselves on bringing spectators closer than ever to the excitement, with free-to-access grandstands opposite the pits and selected areas around the circuit. For those looking to get even closer to the action, the paddock entry ticket allows visitors to get closer than ever to the near 300 racing cars that will be in attendance, as well as the chance to talk to the drivers. Dix Mille Tours du Castellet will take place from the 1st to the 3rd of September, with tickets still available via Peter Auto’s website, where you’ll also find further information about this thrilling event.
