The love of green runs deep in many of us. Perhaps myself, more so than some others, having founded Green Over Tan as a way to showcase my life-long admiration for what is a traditional, but on-trend colour combination. The fact is, while the colour has seen arguably one of the best comebacks in recent memory, the history of the colour is one filled with quirks and competition. Now, iconic British leather and fashion house Connolly have brought together a selection of their greatest green goodies, all of which can be snapped up in the CD Shop.
101 years ago, during the Gordon Bennett Cup in Ireland, which was the predecessor to today’s Grand Prix, a key moment in history was about to take place. Ireland was still a part of the United Kingdom, and despite car racing on public roads being illegal in Britain, the competition was still held thanks to Ireland's support and willingness to take the hit if any legalities were to arise. As a mark of respect, according to legend, British racers painted their cars in homage to the green isle for hosting the race, and just like that, British Racing Green was born.
Nowadays, it’s a shade seen in far more than just perfectly-specified supercars. From the House of Commons to the booths of the hottest new London restaurants, green leather has become the hallmark of timeless luxury and style. Connolly has celebrated this love for green with a unique collection of goods, ranging from a handy leather bound notebook through to an ear-warming green leather helmet and a wonderful array of luggage and weekend bags. If you or a loved one is looking for the ultimate shade of green to spice up their winter looks, this is the collection for you!
