This AC 428 Fastback, chassis number CFX 10, equipped with an automatic gearbox was first registered in Switzerland on the 1st of December 1969. In March 1978, the very rare car - only 13 fixed head coupes with left hand drive were produced - with by then probably only two owners, was taken over by the vendor‘s family. All the maintenance was taken care of in their Ford agency, owned and run by them. In 1996 the elegant Pietro Frua designed coachwork was restored and repainted in its original colour. Health reasons prevented extensive use of the AC in the following years. In April 2018 a restoration of the complete mechanical side was started which took the better part of two years and cost in excess of 75’000 Swiss francs. The work included the overhaul of the original matching-numbers engine as well as the automatic gearbox, the rear axle and the braking system. The carburettor, water pump and fuel pump were also replaced, together with the tyres. We are proud to present an exceedingly rare AC 428 Frua Fastback with left hand drive, from a 45-year family-ownership and in very good condition. The car will be sold with a FIVA-ID from July 2022 and the last Veteran MOT was completed in April 2021.
