Ferrari 2+2s have always represented a perfect synthesis of sportiness, class and class-leading performance. The 365 GT 2+2 was introduced at the 1967 Paris motor show. Proposed as the heir to the highly successful 330 GT 2+2, its design combined the stylistic and aerodynamic experience gained by Pininfarina with the highly exclusive 400 and 500 Superamerica. With more streamlined and graceful styling than the outgoing 330, the 365 GT 2+2 had more power and torque and greater on-board comfort.

Understated, discreet, it was a GT aimed at a clientele that favoured performance and comfort over long distances. The equipment was anything but spartan: power steering, standard air conditioning, a car radio and a rear window with heat shield and full Connolly leather interior made the 365 GT2+2 the ideal car for a classy clientele. The 320 horsepower of the 12-cylinder Type 245 4390cc engine ensured a supple pick-up and a quick, no-holds-barred ride.

Chassis 12895 GT here on sale is perhaps one of the most original 365 GT 2+2s in circulation today. From the copy of the factory assembly sheet, this Ferrari was completed by the factory on 18 September 1969 in the Tourbillon blue 2.443.009 exterior/interior colour combination with blue leather interior VM 3282. The car was sold to the first owner, Mr Lampugnani of Milan by the Milanese dealer Crepaldi and invoiced on 9 September 1969. The car then completed three test runs on 23, 24 and 29 September 1969, covering some 187 km. It was registered on 7 October and then delivered by Crepaldi to Mr Lampugnani's home on 9 October.

The car has its entire service history recorded and as can be seen from the article in the autumn 2002 issue of Ruoteclassiche the car:
from 1969 to 1975 it was regularly serviced by Crepaldi
in 1978, after three years of apparent inactivity, the car was given a complete overhaul by Crepaldi, where it changed tyres, windscreen wipers and received a new battery
in 1993, after spending years in a garage, it was re-commissioned by the garage of the legendary Ernesto 'Tino' Brambilla of Monza, who carried out a complete overhaul, including grinding the brake discs. On this occasion the bodywork was repaired from minor hail damage, but was not repainted.
from 1993 until 2001 the car was serviced regularly by Ernesto Brambilla.
in 2002 the car was then extensively serviced and its phase was changed to accommodate the new petrol on the market. On this occasion it was published in Ruoteclassiche in the autumn issue.
in October 2013, the car was then serviced by Rossocorsa in Milan, who replaced the belts, silent-blocks, spark plugs, brake discs, air and oil filters and all fluids. The brake system, air conditioning and fuel lines were then overhauled. The car had only 62,768 km on the odometer.
in May 2014, the Rossocorsa dealership replaced the silent blocks, repainted the headlamp covers in the same colour as the bodywork, installed new fuel pumps and carried out anti-corrosion treatment of the oxidised parts. The shock absorbers and springs were then completely overhauled, including the self-levelling system.

To date, this wonderful Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 has covered less than 67,000 km and is in pristine condition. Documented and in the same ownership since new, it is without doubt one of the most interesting Ferraris around today. The car is equipped with its original Voxson Stereo 8 radio and numerous fitted parts, such as the oil pan that has number 209.111153 matching the assembly sheet.

Never restored and largely with its first paintwork, it is without doubt a car for true connoisseurs and specialists of the Ferrari marque.
