Beschreibung
In the early 1950s Aston Martin were looking to expand their racing efforts and the car they produced was the DB3S which would become one of the most significant models in Aston Martin’s history. In total, Aston Martin built 11 works DB3Ss and just 20 production examples.
Of the 20 production cars only 3 were Fixed Head Coupes, 1 of which was later rebodied as an open DB3S and so only 2 of the Coupes remain in their original configuration today.
Chassis DB3S/120 was ordered for David Brown himself and was finished early in 1956. It remained with David Brown and the works until 1958 when it was sold to celebrated racing driver Jean Bloxam. She campaigned the car throughout 1958 and had a number of successes. Following this, the car has been owned by some very influential people in the motoring world.
It is not only very rare, being 1 of only 3 Fixed Head Coupes ever produced and 1 of 2 still in its original configuration, it also boasts a provenance that is hard to match. The car has been wonderfully cared for throughout its life and is believed to still retain its original chassis, body and engine.
It is ready to be used and enjoyed and would also be welcomed at all of the very best motoring and concours events.
