Beschreibung
French utility vehicle title
Less than 102 500 km
Service history
Downgraded to a 4-seater utility vehicle
In 1979, the American army launched a call for tenders for a new off-road vehicle, as it had done at the beginning of the Second World War for the Jeep. Code name? High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, or HMMWV (phonetically humvee). AM General's Metal Fabricating Division won the contract, and construction of the most famous and disproportionately military 4x4 began in 1984. Production was initially exclusively military, and it is said that it was Arnold Schwarzenegger who asked AM General management to develop a civilian version. It was Schwarzenegger who took delivery of the first two vehicles, named Hummer, in 1992. In 2000, at the Detroit Motor Show, General Motors Corp. which had bought the rights from AM General, presented the Hummer H2 SUV Concept, which went into production in early 2002. An authentic baroudeur that goes where others do not ("A third of the earth is waiting for you", boasts the brochure), this 4x4 XXL, powered by the Vortec V8 of 6 l and 316 hp (then 325 hp from 2004) takes care of its occupants with electric leather seats, Bose sound system or 3-zone air conditioning. In 2005, a new Hummer H2 cost 83,500 € in France, excluding options.
The Hummer H2 shown here, in Slate Blue metallic with Ebony leather interior, was purchased by its current owner around 2010. Acquired as a company vehicle, it was upgraded to a utility vehicle, and therefore approved for 4-seat use, instead of the original 7-seat configuration (the rear seats allowing the 7-seat configuration are nevertheless sold with the vehicle). Equipped with the 6 litre 325 hp engine, it has been maintained according to the manufacturer's recommendations (no logbook, but invoices available) and has now clocked up just under 102,500 km. This is an unusual vehicle that will be ideal for going off road... or towing your old car.
This car will be sold by auction by AGUTTES Auction House, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, on June the 20th, 2021.
