We are delighted to offer this very limited ownership, matching numbers DB5. It left the factory in the rare and now exceedingly desirable specification of left-hand-drive configuration and with Normalair Air Conditioning. Added to this were a host of options including Bosch Kolor Radio, power aerial, chrome wire wheels with '3 ear' hub caps, heated rear screen and detachable head rests. To top it all, it was supplied in the colour patronised by '007' himself, Silver Birch Grey. An aesthetically warmer upholstery choice was made than Mr. Bond's car, being a rich red Connolly leather.

The DB5 was destined for the U.S. market from new, supplied by New York Aston Martin agents, J.S. Inskip on Manhattan's 64th Street. The original build sheet does not note a first owner, so they would seemingly have ordered the car for stock. Only three months after 'Goldfinger' had debuted in U.S. cinemas, it must have been one of THE cars to own, especially in this Bond silver.

Donald Mann of Watermill, New York State bought the car from Inskip, and would retain it for the next fifteen years, before selling to Stephen Murphy of Laurel Hollow, New York, at which point its mileage was a whisker over 60,000 miles.

Mr. Murphy retained the car for the next 3 decades. He had the car repainted in its original colour and many bills on file attest to routine maintenance while in his ownership, but ostensibly it was used for only one or two thousand miles a year and to this day has accrued less than 80,000 total miles from new.

Since the car has return to the UK, it has undergone a complete restoration, is European taxes paid and UK registered.
