Ford pickup trucks from 1940 and 1941 occupy a special place in the early-Ford community for their classic design and solid construction. The model was designed by Ford’s legendary design chief, Bob Gregorie, and differentiated itself from the competition using the popular “prow front” styling from Ford’s passenger cars of 1939–1940. Enthusiasm for the model has never waned; today, the 1940–1941 trucks are as popular as ever and benefit from robust aftermarket support.

This 1941 Ford 1/2-Ton Pickup is a high-quality example of the breed, and benefits from a lovely restoration by Ford specialist Rick Whetsel of Greenfield, Indiana, who purchased it from noted Ford historian and author Howard Towne. A written history on file chronicles the extensive process and the number of rare NOS parts utilized in its refurbishment. The truck is finished in a lovely shade of Arcadia Green with a green vinyl interior and a varnished clear oak bed.

The Ford was acquired by Blake Nordstrom circa 2005 and has seen impeccable care in his ownership, with a 2006 invoice on file showing sorting after purchase. Enjoyed by Mr. Nordstrom sparingly, it was nonetheless a favorite in his collection and no doubt garnered appreciation everywhere it went. Today, the Ford shows incredibly well, with slight patina from use, but an otherwise very tidy presentation. As an affordable, usable, and approachable classic, this Ford Pickup will no doubt loyally serve its next lucky steward.
