Beschreibung
"The XK8 was launched in 1996 and was the first generation of a new XK Series available in both coupe’ and convertible body styles and with the new 4.0 litre Jaguar AJ-V8 engine. The 1998 XKR was introduced with a supercharged version of the engine and both XK8 and XKR were electronically limited to a maximum of 155mph; the top speed of its predecessor, the XJS V12, being 158mph. Jeremy Clarkson, during a Top Gear test drive, likened the interior of the original XK8 to sitting inside Blenheim Palace. No one can deny that the XKR variants offer staggering performance for such a subtle ride with a luxurious seated position. In late 2001, Jaguar released the limited edition XKR 100 model to celebrate the centenary of Jaguar’s founder, Sir William Lyons. Only 500 coupes’ and convertibles were built and as it was a late 2001 car, they all benefitted from upgraded metal chain tensioners. The XKR 100 standard fit included Recaro seats, grey stained maple veneer, aluminium trim, satellite navigation, radio cassette and six CD player, R performance steering wheel, CATS (Computer Active Technology Suspension), 20” BBS 'Montreal' alloy wheels, Bembo brakes and cross drilled discs. This particular XKR 100 is offered with stunning Anthracite coachwork and Warm Charcoal trim. Having covered a mere 68,780 miles from new, we are informed this car has a comprehensive service history both with a main dealer and specialists. We are also informed that everything works as Jaguar intended and that the car performs beautifully. Supplied with the original book pack, numerous bills and receipts, previous MoT test certificates, all tools, proof of re-registration and two sets of keys, this is an incredibly collectable modern classic and estimated sensibly. Appropriately re-registered Y100 XKR and with a new MoT test certificate valid until September 2020, viewing is certainly recommended."
