Beschreibung
Aston Martin Bristol are Proud to present this Silver Birch Aston Martin DB5 delivered New on the 3rd of June 1964 to its first owner. The car was originally finished in Platinum Coachwork with Blue Connolly hide.
According to the buff log book on file, this car has predominately stayed in the Bedford area from 1972 between multiple owners later moving to York in 2002.
The previous owner of the vehicle commissioned specialists post vintage engineers to carry out a complete ‘Body off’ Full Nut and Bolt Restoration. Extensive body and chassis restoration were completed, documented with photos and invoices which included fabrication of front and rear body skin, New door skins, removal of inner and outer sills, replacement trailing arm mounts and jacking points, chassis outriggers etc.
The suspension and braking system were completely rebuilt and upgraded with Harvey Bailey shock absorbers / suspension kit and the car fully re-trimmed in Burgundy 3171 Connolly Hide with Red Wilton Carpets. All finished to a very high standard.
Engine Specialists JMB Services were commissioned to rebuild the engine to unleaded 4.2 L specification producing a very healthy 316.3 lb/ft torque @4165 RPM making the car very powerful and pleasant to drive.
The latest owner acquired the car in January 2017 and commissioned a full bare metal colour changed from Platinum White to the iconic Original Silver Birch Coachwork.
Never driven by the latest owner and being stored in dehumidified conditions alongside a private car collection. The car remains in Concours condition with just 5 Miles on the odometer since the Full Restoration awaiting to be fully enjoyed by its new owner.
With it extensive documentation and photographs, Original Buff Log Book, Aston Martin heritage certificated copy of the factory records, Aston Martin Build Sheet etc and DB5 Instruction Book. Aston Martin Works Valuation dated 13th of January 2017 £975,000.
This has completed the restoration involving in excess of 2200 Hours, this all matching numbers example is one of the best examples available anywhere.
