Beschreibung

"Caterham Cars is a manufacturer of specialist lightweight sports cars and is a direct evolution of the Series III Lotus Seven designed by Colin Chapman and originally launched in 1973. Caterham had been a major Lotus Seven dealer during the 1960's and its founder, Graham Nearn, purchased the rights to continue manufacture of the Seven design after Lotus announced its intention to discontinue the model. The Lotus/Caterham Seven is widely regarded by car enthusiasts and the media as one of the most precise handling sports cars ever, with 2007 marking the 50th year of continuous production. As with its Lotus Seven predecessor, Caterhams are constructed of aluminium sheet attached to a tubular steel chassis and all are front engined with rear-wheel drive and two seats. Their extremely high performance is achieved through being lightweight and well balanced rather than from particularly powerful engines although in recent years, they have become quite formidable when mated to highly tuned powerplants.
This particular example is presented in blue with a yellow stripe from the front of the bonnet to the windscreen and has a black interior. Its sports seats are fitted with three point harness seat belts, providing maximum safety and the car has a FIA roll bar which is colour coded to match the bodywork. We are informed that the car has just had a cambelt service, carried out in February/March of this year, and it has also had an oil and filter change. The car has had a new battery fitted and a brake fluid change. The power is provided by a 1600cc Rover K Series engine pushing out approximately 125bhp, according to the owner. The car sits on a set of Minilites and comes with a Caterham half hood which is colour coded, even with a matching yellow stripe and the all important side screens. Provided with the car are some old MoT test certificates, a service book with 12 stamps, a quick release steering wheel and UK V5C registration document. These British sports cars are exhilarating to drive and will test any accomplished driver but best to try it out on a track day to fully enjoy its potential, legally!"
