Beschreibung
The Datsun 510, or 1600 SSS as it was known in Europe, gained a legendary reputation in the 1970s for its impressive performance, affordable price and competitive success. With a robust 1.6-litre inline four-cylinder engine, independent rear suspension and lightweight bodywork, the 510 was super competitive and fast.
At the hands of Brock Racing Enterprises (BRE), in the United States, it dominated the SCCA series, winning several championships against European rivals such as BMW and Alfa Romeo.
The 510’s combination of Japanese engineering and racing heritage helped cement Nissan/Datsun’s place in global motorsport and left a lasting mark on enthusiast culture.
This 510, built in 1970, originally registered in New Mexico – USA, was exported to Norway in 1989, where it remained and raced until 2016, when it arrived in Portugal and was driven by drivers Miguel Vaz and Fernando Soares.
