Beschreibung

Jointly developed, manufactured, and marketed by Porsche and Volkswagen, the 914 was intended as the replacement for both the 912 and Karmann Ghia. Introduced in 1969, the well-balanced and surprisingly spacious Targa-topped roadster was equipped with an all-independent suspension, fuel injection, and five-speed gearbox as standard equipment. An enormous success, over 115,000 914 models were sold by the time production ceased in 1976.

This 914 2.0, the top variant in the 914 range, was delivered new to Camp’s Cars in Midland, Michigan, and finished in Zambezi Green over a black leatherette interior. According to the original window sticker displaying a suggested retail price of $7,135, this 914 came very well appointed from the factory with 15 x 5.5" forged alloy wheels, front and rear stabilizer bars, tinted glass, and an appearance package that included fog lights, leatherette-covered steering wheel, dual-tone horn, and a console that featured a clock, voltmeter, and oil temperature gauge. Registering a remarkably low 5,000 miles from new, this car was held by its original owner for almost 30 years until it was acquired in 2003 by The Brumos Collection as an example of an original-production 914.

Accompanied by its books, tools, jack, and spare, this 914 2.0 has been preserved and maintained in stunning condition. A finer, more original 914 is hard to imagine.
