Beschreibung
While Rolls-Royce purchased Bentley in 1931, from the mid-1950s onward, most of the Flying B's cars were badge engineered Rolls-Royces. By the 1980s, Bentley's identity was in serious need of redress, and the enthusiasm within parent Rolls-Royces offices came with the new Muslanne, Bentley's equivalent to the Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit. Further distinction was achieved turbocharged Muslanne. The introduction of the two-door Continental established the sporting nature of the Bentley marque.
Featuring a body boldly painted with color-matched bumpers, grill, and mirrors along with an interior that included a gauge cluster with a full compliment of dials (harking back Bentley's of yore, like the Speed Six, lot 430 in Friday's sale) and seats with great support for more spirited driving. Stiffened suspension, added power from the reliable 6.75-liter V8, and alloy wheels finished off the package.
Initially produced along side its counterpart, the Corniche, by company
