Beschreibung
The Jaguar XJ6 Series 2 was launched in 1973 as a refined evolution of the original XJ6 launched in 1968. Designed by the famous Sir William Lyons, the Series 2 featured subtle exterior updates including a smaller front grille, revised bumpers and a more ergonomic interior.
The modern, smooth independent suspension and high-quality materials have made it a favorite among executives and driving enthusiasts. The sumptuous interior is lined with leather and wood and, in addition to being spacious, is comfortable and quiet – at cruising speed you can barely hear the huge engine under the bonnet!
The XJ6 is powered by a 4.2-litre inline six-cylinder engine derived from the XK lineage, producing 170 Ps and 310 Nm of torque. The Borg-Warner 3-speed automatic transmission gives the XJ6 a more cruiser-like character than a sporty one, but its performance was quick for its time and it copes well in contemporary traffic, with a top speed of around 200km/h.
This December 1977 XJ6 4.2 is a superb example, finished in a traditional and elegant dark green with beige leather. It is fitted with air conditioning, power steering and four electric windows. It is a great collector's car for those who value classic British engineering but still want a relaxed and modern driving experience.
