Beschreibung
This great MGB roadster, still THE perfect first classic car for the novice enthusiast, was first registered in the USA in 1973. The history of the little Brit in the USA is not known until, in May 1992, it was acquired by a Swiss enthusiast during his stay in California. At the end of the year, the MG was shipped to Switzerland and was presented to customs authorities in Zurich on the 11th of December 1992. In the following years, the cabriolet was prepared for the MOT in Switzerland, a task which was completed mostly by the owner himself. During that time the car received a completely new body and a new soft top, a rebuilt exchange engine including a new clutch and a new wiring loom. The instruments were overhauled and converted to kilometres and all the oily bits were checked and overhauled as necessary. On the 7th of August 1995 the first registration finally took place in the Argovia Canton. Over the following years the MG was used enthusiastically and, as can be seen with the receipts available, regularly maintained. For example, the gearbox received an overhaul, an electronic ignition was installed, in 2004 the front screen was replaced, in 2005 a new drive shaft was installed, and, in 2021, the rear brakes were completely renewed followed, in September 2024, for the second time, an overhauled and converted to unleaded exchange engine including new clutch was installed. Currently the pretty B is in very good condition and will be sold to a British classic car enthusiast with the latest Veteran MOT from September 2024.
