• One of approximately six 328 Sport Cabriolets bodied by coachbuilder Autenrieth
• Powered by its matching-numbers 1,971-cc six-cylinder engine making 80 PS, paired with a four-speed synchronised manual gearbox
• Partially restored and maintained by René Große of Wusterwitz since 2010
• Accompanied by a Birth Certificate from BMW Classic, FIVA A3 Identity Card, and spare period-correct gearbox

Delivered on 14 July 1937 to BMW dealer Philipp Müller of Düsseldorf, chassis 85112 was one of approximately only six 328 Sport Cabriolets to receive bodywork by Autenrieth. First owned by a Mr Mostert, the car was exported to the United States the following decade by its second custodian, Mr Otto Linten.

In 1949, the 328 was purchased by fellow New Jersey resident Mr Roland Willis, who kept the BMW until it was acquired in 1983 by Mr Lowell A Blossom of Michigan. He commissioned a restoration before the BMW was bought by the consignor in March 2009. Subsequently returned to Germany, the Roadster has been serviced and partially restored by René Große of Wusterwitz with invoices (available to view on file) dating back to 2010. During this work, a replacement four-speed ZF synchronised manual gearbox was fitted. A period-correct spare transmission accompanies the sale.

Enjoyed since on numerous tours and rallies, chassis 85112 benefits from a FIVA A3 Identity Card dated to December 2009 and Birth Certificate by BMW Classic issued in November 2016, while the car gained its most recent TÜV certificate in March earlier this year. Notably featuring its matching-numbers engine block, this rare 328 Roadster would make for a fine addition to any collection.
