Introduced in 1971, the GTV 2000 was the final version of the classic 105 Series Alfa Romeo, which are so pretty and highly sought-after. There were no major styling changes made by Bertone, merely a new grille, the body remaining the same as the preceding 1600 and 1750 models. Representing the final enlargement of Alfa's legendary twin-cam four, the 1962cc engine produced 132bhp, which was mated to a five-speed gearbox and limited-slip differential improving road handling. Torquier than its 1750 predecessor, the 2000 GTV was good for a top speed of 120mph.

This stunning right hand drive example is presented in the rare 241 Verde colour. Its condition is all thanks to a small number of owners who have cherished and further improved it throughout its life. We understand it has had two owners in South Africa, the second garaged the car for many years and driving it only on special occasions. Then, an Italian car collector acquired the car and funded the restoration, at which point, the engine, gearbox and glass were removed, whilst the coachwork was stripped and finished to its original colour you see today and looks fantastic. In 2020, it was purchased by a British enthusiast who imported it to the UK. Since arriving here, it has visited various Alfa Romeo specialists for mechanical recommissioning works to a high standard and its original steel wheels have been changed to Chromodoro wheels and the steering wheel for a leather modern one (original wooden wheel will come with the car). The odometer reads just under 44,000 kilometres which we believe to be true. The engine block (0512.87069) has been confirmed by the Alfa Romeo Club of South Africa as the correct and original engine from first registration. This GTV is supplied with an Alfa-Romeo Certificato Di Origine, UK V5C document and invoices for recent specialist works and is ULEZ, Tax and MoT exempt. A superb example of this very collectable and rare Italian sports car, so pretty and so eye catching, with the typical Alfa Romeo handling making this a true classic sports car in every sense.
