Beschreibung

Alfa Romeo introduced the elegant Giulietta Sprint at the 1954 Torino Motor Show to great acclaim. Designed by Franco Scaglione of Bertone, it was powered by a 1.3-liter, four-cylinder, alloy engine with twin overhead camshafts and capable of a top speed of over 100 mph. This attractive example is finished in a fantastic shade of medium blue over a light gray interior and, according to an ownership summary on file, by the early 1990s, it was residing in San Carlos, California. It was subsequently driven on the California Mille rally, where its co-driver lost control and the car slid down an embankment, rolling over and damaging its roof. Chassis 21125 was purchased in this state in 2009 by noted Ferrari restorer Patrick Ottis of Berkeley, California, for his 10-year-old son, Tazio. A good donor roof was sourced and Tazio helped prepare the body so that award-winning painter Brian Hoyt of Perfect Reflections in Hayward, California, could repaint it.

Correspondence on file notes the Alfa Romeo received several upgrades, including a Weber carburetor, Alfa Romeo 1750 camshafts, and a lower, stiffer suspension. In 2014, the Alfa Romeo joined one of the world’s most impressive sports car collections, from which it is offered today. The Giulietta has since received servicing and new interior upholstery, documented by a maintenance summary on file. With an understated color combination and desirable performance upgrades, this Giulietta Sprint is an approachable way to experience one of the world’s greatest automotive marques.
