Beschreibung
JAGUAR E-TYPE 4.2 CONVERTIBLE SERIES 1 265CV 1968 - The Jaguar E-Type was presented in 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show. Enzo Ferrari described the Jaguar E-type at the time as the most beautiful car in the world. The first series of the E-Type was heavily inspired by the Jaguar D-Type, the racing car that Jaguar developed to win the mythical Le Mans 24-hour race, but the powerful influence of the original D-Type remained ever-present and well-identified until the 3rd and final generation of the model. The E-Type was revolutionary in many ways, but it was the sleek, iconic bodywork that set it apart from other models in production at the time. It featured rounded headlights and a centralised twin exhaust, which was unlike any other production car at the time. But it wasn't just its looks that made it one of the most desirable cars in production, it also featured much more modern specifications, such as independent rear suspension and disc brakes, which put it ahead of its time.
The engine had 265bhp and could reach a top speed of 240 km/h, making it the fastest production car in the world at the time. This version now has a 4.2 engine, with more torque than the previous engine and a synchronised gearbox. This beautiful and rare example is in magnificent condition and is presented in an elegant combination, with a dark blue exterior, light blue seats and door panelling, blue upholstery and a dark blue soft top. It has a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate. It has been fully restored, within the parameters of the originality with which it was designed. It is also Matching Numbers and Matching Colours. It has the particularity of being a Production Final of the 1st Series of the model and equipped with Factory; Manual gearbox // LHD configuration // Leather seats // Wooden steering wheel // Chrome spoke wheels.
