Beschreibung

The Ferrari 365 2+2 was originally presented at the 1967 Paris Motor Show. Seen as the successor to the 500 Superfast, it upheld the traditions of the Ferrari 250 GTE and the Ferrari 330 that came before it.

The 365 GT 2+2 was powered by Ferrari’s fabulous type 245 4.4-litre V12 engine which was paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The big torquey V12 coupled with the ability to comfortably fit four people, plus plenty of luggage, created a fantastic trans-continental GT. Ferrari customers were able to enjoy a unique driving experience with the feeling of a sports car paired with the practicality of a family friendly machine.

The car presented here is chassis 11965 and was supplied by Maranello Concessionaires in November 1968, although little is known about its initial ownership until the famous importer sold it to J. Pilley Esq of Chelsea, London in 1973. Finished in striking Marrone Colorado over beige leather interior with green cabin carpets and black trunk carpets. It was also noted on the Maranello Concessionaires sales invoice that it had been fitted with a Philips radio, which hit retains to this day.

11965 was acquired by the current owner’s late father in 1984, and at the time had 52,000 miles on the odometer. Having been repainted several decades ago, the paintwork presents in remarkably good condition. The interior meanwhile is all original, and even so remains in good condition with a nice patina. Today it shows 68,000 miles having been cherished over the past four decades as the family classic car. The car drives well having been regularly maintained over the years. Additionally the car retains its original matching numbers engine and gearbox, plus a nice file of documentation, which includes its original buff logbook.

60s GT Ferraris don't get much more accessible or versatile than this!
