Beschreibung

Founded in 1885 by Charles Cretors and still family-owned and based in the Chicago area, C. Cretors & Company remains America’s pioneer and innovator of popcorn-making equipment and other food-service products. The company’s ornate and festive horse-drawn popcorn wagons and peanut roasters from the early 20th century are particularly coveted by collectors, inspiring the construction of exacting replicas built by enthusiastic and highly skilled artisans that beautifully recall simpler times.

Believed to have been constructed during the 1970s, this captivating half-scale re-creation of a circa 1920 Cretors Popcorn Wagon is a delightful and beautifully detailed tribute to the company’s earlier days. The consignor has owned it for over 10 years, preceded by more than a decade under the previous owner. The builder was the late John S. Domanski of Illinois and later Florida. Mr. Domanski also created full-scale Cretors Popcorn Wagon replicas under the Antique Popcorn Wagons Co. name. Built in the style of a Cretors Model C Popcorn Wagon, this highly engaging example is offered in excellent condition and, according to the consignor, the corn popper functions properly and operates on a standard 110-volt electrical outlet. An accompanying rolling stand places the wagon at countertop height for ease of operation and, when placed at ground level, a detachable pull handle allows easy placement, due to its friendly scale, anywhere you should choose to display and, best of all, use it.
